Welcome to the faces of Cape Breton's MAGAZINE. From the first issue of Cape Breton's MAGAZINE in 1972, Ronald Caplan has been searching for ways to understand and learn about Cape Breton Island. His fascination with the people he first encountered in the small community of Wreck Cove led him to what is now considered to be the most extensive oral history project ever undertaken on the people of Cape Breton.
By fusing oral history with photographic porturaiture in a popular format, Ronald Caplan has provided the people of Cape Breton with the means to contribute to their own "history, natural history, and future."
