(I heard it was so slow that people were getting off and picking blueberries and getting back on again.) That's exaggerated a little bit. I'll tell you what they did do, th-ough. There was a blueberry barrens at Homeville, between Homeville and Morien. We used to stop and let them off there--it was just a matter of a couple minutes. You'd pick them up at the station when you were coming back in the evening. It was • just a matter of courtesy, so they wouldn't have to walk a couple of miles to get to the blueberries. They knew what time the train would be coming in the eve? ning, and they'd walk up to the station. But we never stopped and waited while peo? ple picked berries. It wasn't that bad! This article is really a continuation of the S & L story begun in Issue 28. Photos come from the S & L Museum, Louisbourg and Leo Evans' collection.
