Looking at overwintering sites and doing the temperatures, provid? ing holes through the ice, and feeding them. It was a pretty tight winter, be? cause I was getting about the same as unem? ployment insurance--that's what 73% comes to. As well as that, I was incurring all these expenses of travelling 100 miles a day. This was last winter. I'd have to walk into these sites. Drive to Little Narrows, feed the fish there--spend most of the day out there, 'cause that's where most of the fish were. Then I'd come back by Murray Point, and go and feed the fish a second time, and go home, and go and feed the fish at Oyster Pond. And 7 days a week--through the en? tire winter. I stopped Murray Point when the fish froze in February. They froze sol? id in the cages. And that was to be my main site. I moni? tored the temperature the year previously, and it stayed above the lethal zone, but last year it went below it. So I lost fish there. And I also lost fish at Little Nar? rows, which is the first time in 12 years. The same reason. But the fish that I kept at Oyster Pond, I didn't lose any fish, out of the 3 sites. I said, this is even better. I've got a site that's closest to me of all, and this has weathered the s'toimi of the worst conditions. That was my winter. (But there's no income from that.) No, there was no income. I was paid a portion of salary, I was given a severance pay when I left, and vacation pay. So I was living on that a little bit over the winter months.
