God, we had our own rooms--my last years, I had my own room, shower and everything, toilet in my own room, air conditioned, piped-in mu? sic and everything else. Well, we always had our own liquor on the ship, which was cheaper. I go down to the liquor store now. TfUlitcAtd. Used to be $2 for a 40- ouncer on a ship. IOC for a bottle of beer. $1.60 for a carton of smokes. The last couple of ships I was on--we had a pool. One was an outdoor pool, and then the last one was an indoor pool. It was a brand-new ship. Then you went down on the next deck, there was a sauna bath and everything else in it. Oh, gee whiz. (What were you transporting?) Oh, we were general cargo, like coal, iron ore, grain, salt, gypsum. Anything, general cargo, you know what I mean. And it was terrific. Oh, I just loved it.
