(Some of your work is very realistic. And some of it is more your imagination,) I think--it depends what mood I'm in. Some? times I'll carve something just for the sake of carving. Some other time, I carve, and I'm never finished, you know, I'll carve, and I feel it's--I say to myself, "Okay, this is done," but I don't feel it's enough. I want to add something else, I want to add something else. Then it be? comes more real. I can do realism, and very real. But I haven't taken the time to do it. In realism it takes a very long time. Now, I've done realism for friends. For somebody, like, that I know appreciates a carving. And I'm doing it for nothing, I always do my best carvings when I do them for nothing. No money involved. And that's where I get into realism, if it's for somebody, and it's go? ing tp be a present, then I--fussy on it, real fussy, and it takes more time. And then there are some other times that I don't really have to think of the carving --the carving kind of makes itself. You know, I pick up wood, either out of the woods--I walk in the woods and I find dif? ferent pieces that look like certain things. And I'll add very little to it. Because the piece is a piece of art to be? gin with, I feel. So just put an extra little touch in there. And there are things I don't really plan on doing, that turn out to be. It's almost like a miracle.
