I never was fishing myself but I know how it's done. Anyway, they were eating. Oh, they had good cooks. I happened to be having dinner alongside of her father at that time. I knew him well. So at night they had a nice place--white-washed, you know. All white. It was a great big shed. There were quite a few men. Perhaps about 20 people, see. And I could see red spots in the white. So I asked her father, I said, "What's them red spots over there?" He says, "Those are damn bedbugs that we kill at night!" They used to kill them and, of course, it used to make a mark. So he says, "Look, (if) you're coming here to work," he says, "get the hell home!" He says, "You'll do just as well home as we're doing here." He says, "If you were home you'd have your day (off). Today we had to get out (and work)-- 6 o'clock Sunday morning to get out." So I was never interested to go. (He talked you out of it.) Well, they didn't have to. I saw the world going. In fact, the first time I went to Boston I went with a parish priest, (from) here. My brother was staying there after my father died. And I went to his house, and we were all sitting at the table, there was six of us. Now, a place in the city is fast, it's not the same as a country place. But they had fun with me anyway. Cripes, I don't think I had seen an electric car at that time. So anjrway, we were at the table. And my oldest sister-- she was my godmother --she said, "Why don't you take Ma and the rest of the family to Boston."
