(What do you mean, "we forced that"?) That's just what I'm telling you. Because they were doing it with everybody else. (Now, why didn't the politicians say to you, "Bill, go to hell." And the religious people--why would they join you on a dele? gation to go to Ottawa about these prob? lems?) Because--Number One, we researched it. Number Two, we publicized it, and Num? ber Three, we gave the leadership. Because when we went up as a delegation, and when we went to meet with the government, we didn't only speak for coal miners, we spoke for the communities. They built the churches, they built the schools. And you know, when I came on the job, the storekeepers and the--they were so stupid, you wouldn't believe it. But if you hold the money and you don't spend the money, the area is not going to be prosperous. Now, they couldn't care less if the steel? workers never worked. Steelworkers didn't spend their money like the coal miners. They can go on strike at the steel indus? try tomorrow, they couldn't care less. But the coal miner murdered them. Because we spent everything. (Do you see this as sort of a philosophy of coal miners, or you know this to be a fact?) They're the same as people in the army or the navy or the air force. They spent all their money, too. 'Cause they might be dead the next day. So what's the good of having it in your pocket when you get killed?... The support of family and friends in familiar surroundings can also make "quality of life" differences for people with chronic illnesses or those who need short-term health care. These are just some of the reasons why we established Home Care Nova Scotia • a province-wide home care program designed to provide nursing, home support, personal care and home oxygen services to Nova Scotians in their homes.
