Our thanks to Betty Powell, curator of the House of Memories, for her guidance, encouragement, and hospitality. She was present for this conversation with Yvonne Sturgess, and was very much Don's guide during his research in Waipu. He enjoyed marvelous access to the House of Memories' collec? tion, and brought back photocopies, photographs, and inter? views.
