A Home Study Course in Gaelic for Beginners LIVING GAELIC • Books & Tapes • GAIDHLIG BHEO A completely new course in Scottish Gaelic for beginners is now available through Cape Breton's Magazine. It is a carefully made course using books and tapes, prepared by J.A. "Jake" MacDonald, an extremely fine teacher. He taught in Cape Breton in 1972 and 1973?? and in Scotland prepares both be? ginners and future teachers of Gaelic. His goal is to keep Gaelic alive • not as a relic but as a living language • and he has developed successful methods. These are the methods used in Gaidhlig Bheo. Memori? zation and grammar are not foremost. You are simply encouraged to listen and say, to follow the text • and you very quickly have a useful vocabulary, can read simple sen? tences and ask and answer questions • the structure of the language emerges for you. We're pleased to be able to offer this . course to readers of Cape Breton's Magazine. We can accept orders for the course and you will receive the books and tapes directly from NATIONAL EXTENSION COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE. The course indludes four {k) books and six (6) tapes, cassette or open reel. The course has been designed to work well at home, on your own or with your friends. We think it would make an excellent family project. It is' not difficult and does not require any prior background in Gaelic. The complete course is $43.30.
