We want to invite our readers to look at their family albums and write to us about their older photographs. We, in turn, would like to copy some of those photographs, for possible use in Cape Breton's Magazine and in order to preserve them. We think that many of these photographs are important in? formation in Cape Breton history • and even if they don't find their way into the maga? zine, they should be copied to protect them against possible loss. i j We are looking for every kind of photo, 1' from family portraits to people at work or *l' play, views of villages and buildings, old il crafts and historical incidents. Everything! ' Write and tell us what you have. If you wish to send photos, enclose stiff cardboard and mark the package DO NOT BEND. All photos will be copied and returned to you and remain your property. If you don't wish to send them, please write and tell us what you have. We'll try to arrange a visit to copy the photos. You CAN Buy the Single Back Issues We get a lot of requests for back issues of the magazine, and while we cannot sup? ply all back issues, most of them are available. Issues Number 2 and Number 5 (both of which have been reprinted a number of times) are now out of print and not available. But all other issues from Number 1 to Number 18 are available • some in limited quantities but most of them in good supply. You can still get issues 7 through 12 in one big book for 4.50 • but if you would like single back issues to fill out your own collection, or to send particular is? sues to friends or relatives • simply write to us indicating which issues you want and to whom we should send them. In all cases, we will pay the postage and the charge to you will be only the regular price of the magazines. Edited & Published by Ronald Caplan with the help of Bonnie Thompson DECEMBER 1977 Issues 1 through 7 (excluding 2 and 5) sell for 75 cents a single copy. In those days the magazine was 2k pages long. With issue 8 the magazine went to 32 pages • and issues 8 through 15 sell for 1.00 each. They contain from 32 to kO pages. Issues 16, 17 and 18 sure 48 pages long and sell for 1.25 a copy. Remember, if you want to send back issues to a number of people in different places • we'll do all the mailing for you, pay all the postage, and include a note tell? ing them that the back issues come as a gift from you. Just send your order in the form of a letter. And be sure to in? clude a full address for those to receive the magazines, and a cheque or money order.
