My dad thought the world of Bill Lamey for the inspiration and interest that he took in me, and my fid? dling as well. (These dances. One time Winston said to me, "They were hanging from the balcony," Was there that much enthusiasm, that much in? terest in the music?) Oh, sure. I would say that the people that were there--natives of that area--would be very minimal. I would say at the same time that descendants of Cape Bretoners as well as Cape Bretoners were there. If I remember right, it was 9 to 12. There was a full dance floor right from the start to the end. More so after 9 or 9:30, 10 o'clock--it was just jammed. Had a great reputation. Bill was a fine chap. Angus was a great fiddler, too. (Tell me more about Winston "Scotty" Fitz? gerald. You spent time with him, a little bit when you were a child, and then around 15; later yet, you were in The Cape Breton Symphony on the John Allan Cameron TV show.) The show is where I really met the man, if you will, and got to hear his music firsthand. And got to know him firsthand. It was an experience that I'll never for? get. And truly, truly enjoyed. (How was it an experience that you'll never forget?) Well, I--I'm so poor in expres? sion. Unforgettable experience. (Well, you've got to reach harder for Winston.) Oh, for sure. Let me see, how could I go about this? I'm a person that Joves wit--the old wit that came from not having to deal with tel? evisions- -where people made their own fun and created their own fun. He had a wit IGLACE BAY GLASS & ALUMINUM LTD.
