Le plus jeune de ses gar-Qons, il avait gros savoir, mais malgr' qu'il avait beau savoir, il 'tiont martyr avec ses deux fr'res. Quand qu'il allait pour faire de quoi, i' l'arr??tiont, s'il allait pour parler, i' 1' faisiont taire, i' pouvait pas dire un mot. Mais une journ'e, le ro?? 4tait en frais d' lire le papier, i' voyait su' 1' papier qu'i' y avait d' l'eau qui rajeunissait, dans 1'monde. Mais ga disait pas i-oii c' qu'alle 6tait. II a dit k ses deux plus vieux gargons, "J' m'a vous douner d' 1'argent suffisamment pour vot'e voyage et vous allez parti', aller de place en place, d' pays en pays, p'is peut-??t'e que que'qu'un vous dira i-oii c' Marcellin Hach', Cheticamp qu'est l'eau qui rajeunit." "Ah!" il' avont dit, "oui, papt. Mais quoi c' que vous allez faire de not'e fr're qu' est toujours k vous importuner ici?" "Ah!" i' dit, "j' va's 1' chasser." II' avont pris un mouchou', i' 'i avont amarr' su' la goule pour pas qu'i' huchit, p'is il' avont 't' 1' mett'e dans la foret k peu pr's h deux cent pas dans la foret. Malgr6 qu'il 6tait 1' gargon du rot, i' s'a trouv' 1' avec pas une cenne et rien k manger. P'is ses deux gargons aviont parti avec la frigate, d' 1'argent en masse, pour trouver l'eau qui rajeunit. I' ont r'pass6 les pays, de place en place. Que'qu'un avait vu ga su' 1' papier, mais ga disait pas i-oCi c' qu'alle 4tait. Mais lui, il a couch6 la nuit au pied d'un irb'e. L' lend'main matin, quand c' qu'i' s'a r'veilld, une femme qu' apparait k lui qu' 6tait en frais d' dire sa pri're. Alle a dit, "M' counais-tu?" It should not be considered a translation; both the story in French and the story in English are good reading, and reading one is no ex? cuse for missing the other. The water that rejuvenates is a story about a king who had three sons. The youngest of the three was the wisest but very much frowned upon by his brothers. When he tried to do something, they stopped him; when he went to speak, they stopped him--and he could never get a word in any conversation. One day the King was reading his newspaper when he found an article which described a "water that rejuvenates" (The Fountain of Youth) that really existed in the world, but (the paper) did not say where this wa? ter could be located. The King said to his two eldest sons, "I will give you a suffi? cient amount of money for your voyage from place to place, from country to country, and maybe someone will tell you where this water that rejuvenates might be." The sons answered, "Yes, Father, but what will you do with our youngest brother who's always in the way?"
