The lady in the bed next to mine was a Ukrainian Catholic. Her baby was dying in her arms. I gave her the cord and told her to pray. She said, "I am not a practising Catholic. I don't know any prayers." I an? swered, "Say any prayer." "Oh, God, be merciful to me a sinner," she said over and over again while placing the cord on the child. Suddenly, the child was cured. For myself, phlebitis set in my left foot. I wasn't allowed to get up, so I placed the cord on my foot. The following morning when I was receiving communion, I promised I would receive at every Mass no matter how late they were on Sunday. When the nurses came to change my bed, they told me to get up and sit in the chair. The lady whose child was cured said, "She is not allowed up." "Never mind, I'll get up." So, favouring the sore foot, I got up. noticed no swell? ing. I stood on it--there was no pain. It was completely cured. I kept the promise. In 1950, I was coming home from a dance (I enjoyed dancing immensely) with my two brothers and sister and another couple. I was seated in the centre in the back seat. The car stopped. Suddenly, I found myself as light as a Cape Breton Auto Radiator co RADIATOR HOSES • REPAIRING • CLEANING • RECORING r-?'
